Modern woodburners and wood burning systems are now incredibly efficient and stylish. Using wood as the primary fuel to heat your house is now a viable and realistic alternative to fossil fuels. Why wood? - Trees can absorb three times as much carbon whilst growing as will be released during burning. During the life of a tree, it may have provided 20 times as much oxygen as will be required during efficient burning. A tree can be ready for burning in as little as seven years, sooner if coppiced wood is used. Managed woods are thinned and natural regeneration is allowed to take place; a sustainable continuation of woodland cover and supply of fuel. |

The firewood we produce is from sustainable woodland (some FSC certified) and from timber sourced locally and from South Wales. A small percentage comes from tree surgery material from ESA Treecare ltd and from other tree care companies. |

Our delivered timber is stored in our yards, converted into logs using various specialist machinery and then stored undercover before finally drying in poly tunnels in individual cubic metre crates. |

Wood can contain up to 50% moisture when first felled. This is why we season the wood so that the moisture held within the wood is released through natural drying rather that in your fire which can cause sooting of the chimney, inefficient burning and low heat output. We aim to reduce the moisture content to 20-25% for all of our wood. |
